How many Java updates do I need in programs?

When I was looking through the add/remove programs section I noticed there were five Java 6 updates numbered 2, 20, 3, 5, 7 in that order and they range in sizes from 94MB to 136MB. Do I need all of these updates or can I delete some of them?

The latest is now Java6 21
Add Remove .. Uninstall ALL older than this, then open Java panel from Control Panel and check updates again on update tab.
All will be fine.

Cheers, I'll just keep 20 then. Why does it not automatically get rid of the older ones when a new one is installed?

It never has done. Don't quite know why .. I don't think a lot changes.
