hi, how do I get rid of the text under the icons in the desktop I have tried the 255, but im on a laptop. any ideas cheers

Slightly strange thing to want to do, but up to you I guess...

renaming them using alt + 255 works for me, remember you need to hold down alt while typing 255 and you must type 255 on the number pad to the right of the keyboard, it will not work if you use the top row of numbers.

Oh, just seen you are on a laptop...

try alt + fn + 255 using the number pad outlined in yellow in this pic (look at the keys, they will have numbers on them too)

If that doesn't work, then copy and paste the character in between these quotes " ", It's the character that alt + 255 would give you...
