I ordered a few items off Amazon and they were dispatched.  I have been tracking the order on the DHL website, and after arriving in a branch near me, it says "Items held - damaged"  Does anyone know what happens when this happens?

Thanks..

If they are classed as 'undeliverable', they will go back to amazon who will need to re-send them. If however, they can be delivered they will most likely be sent to you, and then it is up to you to see what needs replaced. Either way you will be covered as if you need replacements, you wont have to pay for them. Its just the hassle of it all. I would contact the DHL branch where it was last tracked, and make a few enquiries. If you provide them with your tracking i.d. they have to tell you. I used to work for amazon and you would not believe the amount of times this happened.
