Conflicting remote controls

The remote control for my DVD player alters the settings on my digital box, consequently I can't record off my digital box whilst watching a DVD because as soon as I use the DVD menu it alters what I am recording.
Is there anyway round this.

unfortunately, no probably not.

Remote crossover is rare, but it does occasionally happen, short of covering the remote sensor on one of the boxes and only using the front panel buttons on that box there is generally not anything you can do about it.
