When I receive text messages I often get only part of the message  and the bottom line reads *some text missing* and about five minutes later the full message appears. Any ideas?

It could be that  the messages longer than 160 characters therefore requiring two texts to send, modern phone put them together and send in one go, but older ones split them up.

Thanks, Tigga. It is actually an old phone - time to upgrade!

get a cheap one off www.ebay.co.uk or www.ebay.com

i was hoping to get a sony erricson p800

the *sone text missing* is normal

That is because the text message is over 160 characters long. This is the limit. A better way to do it is to use a free text messaging service like www.freetext.com. That way you can send in the correct amount of characters and its free.
Opps I mean Freetext
