My wifes 6 week old Samsung Netbook is not seemingly powering up. It usually goes straight to Hyperspace but a few time sit has just hung but fine on reboot. Today as she was using it it requested to do an update. She confirmed, the update went through, it rebootef and then after the initial Samsung screen at the beginning it jst goes to a black screen. The power button is lit along with the wifi light. After the initial boot up the disc drive light stops flashing. On the Samsung screen it offers F2 for set up and F4 for Samsung Revovery Solution 4. She has tried basic restore and full restore (luckily she had nothing on it to save) but each time after the restore the black screen follows the Samsung icon. Is the drive knackered or the RAM? Time for it to go back and be checked/replaced or is there anything else we can try? Thank u.

at 6 weeks old and if it still won't work after a full restore then, yes, time to send it back.
though that said, what OS is it?

if it's windows will it boot into safe mose? (start tapping F8 as soon as it's turned on)

(if it was faulty RAM or hard drive it would more than likely not complete the restore fully)
Hi gadgetgeek,
You should contact Samsung and have it repaired after doing all of the normal diagnoses at six weeks this should not happen
