My wife dropped her old phone [Orange Pay as you go] in the dog's water bowl! It's now totally dead. Dried out but not working. Can we use her SIM in my old contract phone? Mine is a Nokia 6288 - slider type? Thanks.

[I'm sure there's a link, but haven't found ityet and am a bit pressed for time]

Yes you can. Once a phone has got wet it is useless.
If you have a private mobile phone shop near you, usually a one man place, most of them have an unlocking device. It will cost you about a tenner, but is worth it. Make sure your phone is fully charged. It will take a little while. If you go to one of the 'big' companies, they will charge you about thirty quid!

Thanks Waterboatman - Good Morning by the way, hope all's well in your world - didn't know if it was a DiY job. Will give that a go next time I'm in town.
You're welcome. It's not a DIY job! It's an electronics thing.

I'm fine thanks. You all OK?
