I have downloaded the latest version of Messenger onto my XP Pro computer.  I am able to connect to my contacts and see their webcam and their audio.  However, they are unable to hear me.  I have an external microphone plugged in, and it appears to work as it echoes.  But using the audio wizard it does not appear to be acknowledged by MSN.  I have done things like making sure I had the latest version of DirectX (which I now do) but nothing so far has worked.  One contact has XP and the other has Windows 2000.  They both can talk to each other, but neither can hear me.  Any suggestions?

There is three answers that fits the description of the problem. Your internet provider or network does not support audio conversations. There is nothing you can do about this exept from change your internet provider or network. Both quite hard to do. and cost a bit.

another answer is that if it is the newest version of msn...msn 7.0 beta then the other contact may not be using that version and so may be incompatible.

Another is that your microphone is not compatible with MSN or Just The msn version you are using.

Sorry but this is the best answer i could come up with. Hope it helps. Matt
