The only Canon 'wide' lens is the EF-S 10-22mm which is very good, Sigma do a slightly shorter/slower lens at 10-20 which is cheaper, they also have the same length in a constant 3.5 but I have no experience of that. Next would be the Canon 14mm L which is a whole heap of money!. I have the Sigma on my 7D and am very happy with it, I tried the Canon and decided that the extra £200 for half a stop and 2mm on the long end was more than I wanted to pay for, bearing in mind that I already have the 17-55.
