On a budget of 5 to 6 hundred pounds could anyone recommend a tv, I would like one about 40- 42 inches I am unsure which to get lcd , plasma or even led which I have only just heard about , any help would be much appreciated as its a mine field out there cheers

Anything 43" or over, I would go for Plasma or LED. Pick a good brand tho! Anything under, LED or LCD. Under some circumstances, LCD will produce a blocky or smeary image quality. None of them are totally free of the problem, but some much better than others.
Pioneer, Panasonic, or Sony get my votes at the moment.
