IE8 problems

I have started having problems with IE8, which has been running perfectly until a couple of days ago.

I know a lot of people *** it off but I prefer it (without any problems) to Chrome and Firefox.

It's fine to start with but after a while the window freezes and the cursor won't move, and it takes numerous attempts to shut it down.

I regularly clear the browsing history.......any thoughts please?

Do other browsers suffer the same inconvenience ?
Just wondering if it is something running in the background taking all the resource.
Could possibly be a "virus" of some sort.
Or you could try an IE8 reinstall.
There again there are all the dreaded plug-ins that might be causing problems. Have you agreed to any adding themselves in recently ?

No I try to avoid unnecessary add-ons............
Difficult. Try a Ctrl/Alt/Del to bring up a task list. Click on the headings to put them in order.

See if anything is taking up too much CPU time or memory.

PCs are weird things. Mine does that sort of thing too often. I think they need a good swear at them, to get them to buck their ideas up.
