Does this phone not work like others? put names/numbers in but when someone phones up the phone says number witheld, why does it not come up with the caller like other phones do? am i missing something in the menu system? TIA.

It could be that although you know the callers number they have witheld the number at their end.

As a test call your mobile from a number that you know is not witheld. It should show up on your mobile.
