Windows Task Manager - what info?

What information is available with windows task manager? I know it's possible to end slow and locked programs with it, but what else does it do? e.g what are processess? and networking? What are these things telling you? TIA.

Hi, sorry to butt in without answering your question, but I just wondered how your grand-daughter got on when she was a mascot last week? Did you all have good time?

Processes shows all the stuff running on the computer including all the background stuff that wouldn't be classed as an application.

networking shows the usage level of the network adaptor in the computer (so how much data is being sent to or from the computer)
