Windows 7 - how to view more than one tab (page) at a time?

I understand that I open new pages by clicking the tabs, but is there a way to view more than one page at a time. Previously I would open a new window and then set the 2 pages side by side but I don't know how to do that now that they are all in the one window.

Right click along the bottom (blue) of your screen, menu will appear, cascade window, stack windows, show windows side by side is one way of doing it. Hope this helps.
Just run a second copy of whatever browser you are using.

Doesn't seem to make a difference when I do that darcy.
