Madonna is singing the new Bond movie's theme. Seems most artist who had this privilege only went downhill from there?

Have to disagree there fomtest - from where I'm standing, Matt Monroe. Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow, Garbage, Duran Duran, Lulu, and Tina Turner have all done very nicely thank you! Even the artists who are perhaps lesser known over in the UK - Rita Coolidge, Sheena Easton, Gladys Knight, and Carly Simon have enjoyed considerable success in the U.S., and Monty Norman's theme for 'Dr. No' is probably the most recognised guitar riff in the world. There is a massive kudos, not to say earning potential, in writing and / or singing a Bond theme, and let's face it, Madonna hasn't got where she is by making dodgy career decisions.
And let's not forget Moby, who reworked the Bond theme for Tomorrow Never Dies, and then went on to release a little album called Play ...
