I was copying discs on laptop and the battery ran out. Plugged it into the mains now screen is blank and I can't turn it off. The green light is still on. Thanks for any help. Will it blow up in the night if I leave it and go to bed?

will be safe to leave on, sometimes if left on for a while the computer realises whats wrong and carries on, or resets itself.
If it's still not happy in the morning, pressing and holding the power button down for maybe 5 or so seconds should force the computer to shut down, or unplug from the mains and lift the battery away for a few seconds.
You will lose whatever you were doing at the time.
if u r running windows 7 it back ups to ur hard drive and promts on next turn on if u would like to go to last work so take power lead out and un clip battery fo a few mins and put back the laptop will want to reoot but thats fin ITS NOT GOOD FOR THE HARD DRIVE ETC SO DONT HOLD ME TO RANDSM IF IT DONT WORK
