i have a lexmark printer. since installing the driver software, lexpps.exe rpcss (remote procedure call) and other nasty little things try to access the net on my behalf. i am a privacy advocate and wish to remain in control of WHAT my computer does and WHERE it goes. any help on this topic would be of great interest to me. TIA, Max.

suggest, you install a rule based Firewall (I use Sygate Pro 5.0). That will give you more control over what is happening and when... Cheers, PD
