Hi, does anyone know if the free version of Zone Alarm is compatiable with Windows 7? I have just upgraded my Vista to Windows 7, but I don't want to reinstall Zone Alarm free is it does not work.

Unsure as I abandoned Zone Alarm when I left XP. An excellent alternative which I now use is Avast anti-Virus, It's free to a home user and comes with a years license, and so far I am impressed with it's unobtrusivness on Windows 7.
not sure about suggesting an anti-virus program as an alternative to a firewall!

yes the zonealarm firewall will work on windows 7
update to my last post.

Zone alarm will work on 32bit versions of wndows 7, it will not work on 64bit versions.

Zone alarm 2010 should be out soon and that will work on all versions

Thank you all for your answers, it is most appreciated.
Meant to say the windows firewall works pretty good alongside Avast's anti Virus.
To be fair the windows firewall is OK for most users, but it's really not a very good firewall, it's is (as default) only a one way firewall, this means that it will stop thing coming into your computer, but if you were to get some malware or a virus there would be nothing to stop information being sent out from your computer.
Hmm, I would of thought that Outbound Packet Filtering would have dealt with those issues.
it would, if it's turned on, which it isn't by default, and as it's not possible to enable it though the normal windows security center most users don't bother.
