With thanks to the help received from this site, I have got my computer working nearly 100%. However although my above printer is working OK I cannot access the HP Director to check settings etc athough a short cut icon appears on the Desktop. I have uninstalled and installed twice but no luck. Any suggestios with grateful thanks from a wrinklie.
