For some reason my computer won't open .xls files- spread sheets. I'm sure it used to. I have a copy of Windows Office 2003 but when I put it in the PC, nothing happens. When I try and open the email download (a timetable), it tries to configure Microsoft Office, but then it comes up with "Installation not found". Even with the disc in the drive.

Any ideas how I can sort this?

even with disc in the drive???

so.... put disc in drive, it should come up with the install office dialog, install it (or re-install it)
i think im right in saying.XLS files are a later version of excell in office 2007 . your office 2003 would be just .XL, where i work we have an office2007 converter tool on our pCs to enable us to open these files.
Chas, I have Office 2003 and my excel files are .xls
excel 2007 files are .xlsx

.xls is standard for all version before 2007
