Wireless Router Problems

I am using a DGN2000 wireless router... and i am trying to connect to the wireless network through a WG111T wireless usb adapter on my computer. (I have checked if either the router or the usb adapter needed updated, they both are updated fully.)

We currently have the Window Vista Home Premium package.

When i logged on to the computer... I looked at the internet and it had a red x beside it., i scrolled over it and it says 'not connected, wireless networks in range'.

So i right clicked and hit 'connect to a network' and when that box opened up it said the following beside our network name...

'the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of this network'

I searched the internet and was given the following link to try out...

Under the first comment, additional information, i have tried, which has worked a treat before, but now when i do it another problem is presented.

The problem that then is presented is that it asks for 'Additonal Login Information' when i click on enter this additional information, a username, password and logon domain is asked for.

I enter the username and password and have no idea what the logon domain is... i searched for this and websites say 'leave the logon domain blank and hit ok' while others say 'enter your ip address'. (to which i have tried both to no success).

I am wanting any advice on how to fix this problem... if anyone has any ideas... anything that they think can help... even if it means doing something already listed... i am willing to try again to sort this problem..

Thanks!

So how do i check this... would i go to the trouter and wireless settings?

How do i make sure they both are the same?
i had the exact problem nickygurl just recently, exactly the same.

in the end my brother came over and sorted it by starting a fresh.

he reset the router by sticking a pin in the little hole at the back of the router, put the installation disk in again and went through the set up procedure, choosing a new username and password (write it down somewhere and keep it safe) and everything is working fine now.

hope this might help... :o)
