i bought a Tenda w311u wireless adaptor for my pc so i can use the internet wirelessly (connect to virgin media router in the house), but when i insert the usb my pc dosnt seem to pick up the new hardware.... i went to my computer to see if its showing there but nothing even when i refresh it. the green light is lit on the usb but not doing anything. i went to control panel to add new hardware but still cant find it, i also put in the cd to install the program, it keeps asking me to insert the adaptor but its already there, where am i going wrong?

ive inserted to every available usb slot but no joy, ... i inserted the usb adapter into my laptop and the laptop picks up new hardware straight away.... help!

Could be that the USB slots are not wired up internally. Do you have a USB memory stick? If so does your computer recognise that?
install drivers first - then insert dongle
if dongle already there - confuses thing ... that's why it tells you when to plug it in
