what dvd disks are best to burn films on to?

Ive tried Dvd-R disk but it comes up error in the dvd player, what else can i use?

dvd+r - but look in the player's book - it will tell you what you can and can't use

Try burning them at the lowest speed you can, that should improve reliability.

And you are burning them as a 'proper' dvd rather than a data disk aren't you? (assuming your dvd player doesn't have divx capabilities)

This is probably nowt to do with the disk, you are probably not burning them in DVD format.
