I keep getting a message to say that the file OSD_1.4 MSI is missing and the computer wants to install it. What is it for?

A search in Google for "OSD_1.4" or "OSD_1.4.msi" finds quite a few people getting this.

If this is an Advent laptop and you are running AVG anti-virus, check the AVG virus vault.
If you can see the file in the vault, select it and click Restore.
