continuous numbering of tracks on mp3 player

how do you ensure that when downloading albums from cds to mp3, that all tracks will be numbered 1 to say 30 insted of 1-10, 1-10 & 1-10 . in other words although you have recorded 3 seperate albums. on the mp3 player I want the tracks to be numbered consecutively from track 1 on album 1 to say track 30,( the last track on album 3) is this possible... thanks

It depends on what software you are using to rip your music, but you can modify the track numbers afterwards using MP3TAG ( http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ ) you can specify the track star number when you use the auto numbering wizard, if you want to it will even rename the files with track#trackname etc... a very useful piece of software and it's freeware.
