surely there are loads of online dating sites that are international? Or what about message boards relating to things you're interested in (like music, for example?) I 'meet' a lot of people in the US and other places that way. I'm not in the market for dates though, to be fair. Just try googling for dating sites - I would give it a go, but I'm behind a fairly strict filter which won't allow access to anything like that.
