iphone itunes probs

hi.i just bought an iphone.mainly cos my ipod broke..i downloaded itunes version 8 an reinstalled my music from disc which i had backed up..set up the iphone to pc...some albums will transfer but most are greyed out when i try to click and drag with exclamation marks appearing at side of album in i tunes,,i had an 80g ipod b 4 and didnt have any probs many thanks in advance..steve

Are they songs you've piurchased from iTunes store?

If so, you may need to authorise the iPhone to play these tracks (and your new instance of iTunes that you have).

Why did you have to resinstall your music? Just updating iTunes won't remove your music.
