alfee....that is in English........you want to hear him when he is with the boys.
The problem is that UNDER the laptop keyboard is the important electronics (the motherboard etc).

If the water has drained through to the motherboard you may have problems.

I would first STOP using it (electricity and water dont mix!)

I would remove as much of the laptop as you can (battery, CD drive, anything else) to let the air in.

Maybe dab it with a tissue to remove residual water.

As has been said, maybe gently blow warm air into it with a hair drier.

Leave it opened up, but upside down, overnight to let the water drain out, and dont use it again till the morning.
wipe wet board with methylated spirit to remove sugar residue.
If you use a hairdryer on it, use it on it's coolest setting.
Try a tap on the side
deedee, that doesn`t sound like you.

thanx everyone, sorry for the strange wording, it was my little sisters laptop and i was trying to fix it and the 'n' didn't work hence the ca instead of can.... I've took all the advce and turned it upside down for her and used the hair dryer she says it seems to be working alright, fingers crossed. For once it isn't me that needed the computer advice t was my clumsy 13 yr old sis lol x
Thought that`s what it must be.
As a general rule (I say this to all of us).....

DONT drink or eat messy food near a laptop.

I speak from bitter experience.

About 5 years ago I had a work laptop I was using at home.

I was sitting at the laptop, eating a bowl of corn flakes with of course milk on them.

Reached out to press a key on the keyboard and knocked the bowl upside down right on top of the laptop.

Left it to dry out, but keys went all sticky, and it never worked properly again, and in the end my company had to replace it.
