Laptop won't boot - but power lights showing...
Hi, I have a Sony VAIO VGN-NR21J/S, which worked with no problems until a few weeks ago.
Now, about 50% of the time, maybe more, the computer won't boot properly.
I turn it on with the power button, the battery power light and the standby light (green and orange) both light up, but nothing else happens.
If I take the battery out and then put it back again, it seems (more often than not, but not always) to solve the problem and the laptop boots up.
I don't know if it's a coincidence, but I installed AVG around the same time as this problem started. Previously, I'd had Avast (nothing off-the-shelf like Norton etc).
It's really frustrating, this not knowing what to do with it. Thanks Jim
