My AVGInternet 8.0 trial version had expired, so I attempted to install a new trial.
When I got to the "activate your license" box, the message 'setup error' came up along with " the lincense has expired"
thinking that this was because I had not uninstalled the original trial,I uninstalled.
I made 2 further attempts-first with AVG Internet 8.0 again, and then with AVG Anti-virus. Both times I was unsucessful with the same results as my initial try.
What is going wrong?..Or is this AVGs way to make sure we do not keep using their trial versions.

Ahh...thanks Ethel. Someone told me about that one-but I couldn't find it on AVG's website. Will go do some downloading..

My guess is that AVG has put a secret or hidden file on your computer saying the trial has ended.

Every time you try to install a new trial it will find this hidden file and stop you doing another trial.

Note the free AVG is just Anti Virus, whereas you may have had a full security suite on trial.

So you may need to install other security software like Firewall or Spyware if you have not got that.
