A friend's son has sent him a couple of DVD films from America. However, because of the regional coding, he can't view them. They will play on my computer.
Is there any way I can rip and copy them onto a DVD that he can watch on his machine?

if you post the make and model of the DVD player somebody might be able to point you to the hack to make it multi region.
Or if you cant find a multi region hack you could uses DVD shrink to copy the DVD and make it region free so it will play in any DVD player
