A friend of mine has just been passed on an Ipod shuffle . I created a new user account on my laptop plugged the shuffle in expecting to be able to just open it & copy the music over .
It's seen in My Computer & 1.6GB is used but It appears to be hidden .I tried to open it , explore it & open as a portable device but can't see anything .
What do I need to do ? TIA

Sorry , should have said I did install itunes. Didn't help , imported Windows sample music but that's it . I want to copy the songs from the ipod so surely I need to be able to see what's on it , like a folder ?
The only way you can see what's on it if by using iTunes. This is what is so cr@p about the iPod compared with almost all other mp3 players - you can't just treat it as an external drive.
