Looks very good, but at 300 odd its very expensive. Does anyone have one, and what is the verdict? I want a good video player for on the train say, internet access, music, games and an e-book. Does it do all this and does it do it well? Does anyone else have an alternative to reccommend? Any input appreaciated.

Thanks, that helps.
I have an archos 605 and an AV500 and must say that I have been impressed with them both. Although I have the Opera browser installed on 605, I don't tend to use it much as if I am in the house, I will use a PC, if not then I will can't use it as I can't get a free wifi signal (I use my mobile instead).

As a video player / mp3 player, I think it is great - and has a screen that is very usable - any smaller and I get irritated. I use mine at the gym whilst on a cross trainer - and have not had an issue watching anything from 24 through to Iron Man on it.

Personally, I would go for a cheaper 605 model - you can get this for around half the price - as I don't think that things like the mail server would be much use.
