12 V to 220V (possible??)

i need to set up a home cinema on a 12V power supply .Fine and dandy , but the home cinema works on 220 V ..and thats kind of a problem . how can i convert those 12 V to 220 V so the home cinema will work :D (whats to mention is that the 12 V comes from car baterry..) thnx a lot !

Yes you need a 12Vdc to 230Vac Soft Start Power Invertor available from http://www.maplin.co.uk/ just search for "Soft Start Power Invertor" in their search box, there are different models depending on the load required.
Yeah its possible to get 230V off a 12V battery. You need a a thing called a DC/AC inverter. The only thing is that TV's etc designed for 230V a.c. don't always work with these units. Also these units are expensive (at least �100 for what you seem to need). I pretty sure you can get these from RS (www.rswww.com)
