Gonna take the plunge on Saturday and buy a DVD burner. I have multiple video files to burn(DivX or Xvid i think) . What software should I be using? setting up menus would be nice but is not vital but I do need to be able to skip to the next video file.

and if anybody wants to advise me on what DVDR to buy/not buy that would be helpful as well. thinking of the LG Dual layer at the moment
Firstly, get a MULTI FORMAT burner, as domestic DVD players can usually read either + or -, but some can read both. These are less than 70 now. These do dvd- and dvd+. The dual layers are not reliable enough at the mo and the discs are very expensive. Iv had 4 and they have all been faulty! My dvd burner came with the latest version of nero which can burn menus etc. If you wanna backup films, then goto www.dvdshrink.org/ . This can compress a double layered film onto a blank DVD with not too much loss of quality. Hope this helps. PM
