Full HD 1080p and 32 inch screens.

Trying to get my head around this. I don't really want a very large TV and I would prefer a 32 inch set. However, I notice that most of the 32 inch screens are 720p and not 1080p (there are some). Most ranges only go full 1080 at 37 inch.

Is that because there is no detectable benefit going higher resolution at 32? Or some other reason?

Hi 'gromit'......your thinking is along the right lines......there is an additional cost to provide a '1080p chip-set. and I guess the tv makers think that the cost is not justified for the small benefit in resolution, particularly as HD tv transmissions are 720p or 1080i...which the sets can handle.The real benefit of 1080p is in watching HD_DVD, (bluray) which is 1080p, although a 1080i tv picture looks better on a 1080p system.
