I have just bought a new mobile phone and changed from Virgin to Vodafone. I've requested to keep my old number and this has been done but it won't start untill Monday. I need to put some credit on the phone but would like to know if it will still be there when the number changes. In other words does credit go onto the sim card or onto the number. Sorry if I'm being a bit vague but don't know how else to explain it.

As far as i gather if you dont use it up whats left will be lost to virgin, give either one a call to find out for sure
Once the transfer to Vodafone is complete, you will lose any unused credit that you had with Virgin.

Think about it, say you pay Virgin 10 to top-up your airtime and only use 50p of it, why would they then give the 9.50 left to Vodafone??

I decided to ring Vodafone and they've told me that no it won't transfer even though they'll have my money. Thanks for all your help anyway.
I think i would fone again and get someone else to speak to, that doesnt sound right its still on the vodafone sim card whether its active yet or not it should still register with them on your number you are keeping
