The bulb in my touch control lap shorted out, replaced the bulb but, the touch control no longer works! Any ideas please on how I get it back to the way it was or, do I have to use the wall switch for ever?

My apologies! lap should read lamp
I did have a touch control lap ... but that's another story.

have you changed a "propper" bulb for a lo-energy one?
this happened 2 mine aswell,if uve got the reciept take it back,i did they just exchanged it now its fine
This has been mentioned before. I had three different ones of touch lamps and they all stoppedworking within a very short time, so took them back and exchanged in the end had my money back.

ACtheTROLL no the bulb whihc "blew" was a proper one. We can't use the new fangled ones as they give my wife headaches! Really, not the usual excuse!!
To everyone else it appears its frazzled.
The trouble with this wonderful design idea is that most of them seem to be unable to cope with an overload caused when some bulbs blow (naturally). If this has happened once, it is likely to happen the next time - even if you change the unit for a new replacement. Until the designers have sorted this out, best to get your money back.
