Hi I am currently creating an e-commerce website. I would be more than grateful if you could give me an idea of how to go through the process of domain names , transferring sites to the internet and hosting the website. I reside in the uk, and my products will be sold worldwide. Thank you

you could try www.freehostia.com they offer a good service as for ecommerce there are a few systems around some free some paid for

you register with the hoster and chose your hosting plan meaning how much space you want and how much bandwidth per month you are allocated freehostia do a nice free plan with no adds that gives you 5 GB/month, in the process of registering you choose a domain name for which you pay seperately from the hosting plan so don't get confused.

as for actually setting up a e comerce website system I'm not too sure will have to leave that to someone else to explain.

you will need a ftp program to load files onto your hosting space or you can set it up as a network place in windows which is faily simple and allows you to manage it just like the folders on your own computer. the ftp info that will be used by windows or a dedicated ftp program will be provided by the hoster and will consist of a user name (typically your domain name) and a password
It sounds from your post that you have little web experience. In which case, I strongly advise that you pay someone to do this for you, as an e-commerce site can be tricky to set up especially if you don't really know what you are doing.
