Does he mean the drop down address bar??

Back to my problem, the ribbon addresses dont remain deleted?
In your explorer or firefox *address ribbon* as you describe it..... if you go to Tools/Options, there should be somewhere you can untick (uncheck) some boxes ....

I have firefox running under Vista and if I click on Tools, Options, I see (under the History section) 3 little boxes:-

* Remember visited pages for the last ..... days - I've changed mine to 0 (zero)

* Remember what I've entered in forms and the search bar - I've unchecked this

* Remember what I've downloaded - I've also unchecked this
