Car Radio Problem

I'm having a problem with my car radio. On the MW/LW setting, it won't stay tuned to the station and drifts slightly off so that, for example, I can't get Radio 5 on 909, but I can get it on 918. It then alternates between the two points as I drive along, and sometimes just goes dead for minutes at a time. Anyone know why this is happening or if it is curable?

It isn't your radio. It's life, I'm afraid. Radio signals are transmitted from several points, at slightly diffeent frequencies so they do not interfere. As you move away from one transmitter and towards another the strength of the signals will vary. This is why radio stations always give wide ranges of frequencies to tune in to. Some radios will "follow " the station for you, but they tend to be quite sophisticated.
