I've just bought a SB Live! 5.1 Sound card and installed it. Problem is whenever I play a sound, piece of music or any kind of audio, the sound comes out all choppy and jumpy. I've updated the drivers, disabled the onboard sound, switched pci slots but so far nothings helped. ANyone know how I can fix this?

Could be one of several problems. A) Soundblaster sound cards have known compatability problems with some VIA-based mobos. B) Processor not fast enough. C) Unshielded speaker cables-reroute them. D) Hard drive problems-can`t read the sound file to buffer fast enough-usually defragging cures it but even a virtually full one can be the problem. Hope this is of some help to you.
