Has Someone Hacked My E-Mail?

Hi

Recently i posted an ad on a site called vivastreet selling my laptop, soon after i was receiving requests from people apparently interested in it and asking me to get back to them via e-mail which i did.

None of them responded but today i cam to log into my e-mails account (Yahoo) and its telling me my password is incorrect, i have double and triple checked this and it just wont let me in.

Is it possible that someone has hacked into my e-mail and if so can they do any real damage like buying things in my name etc, this might sound like a stupid question as its only an e-mail but i know what some people are capable of with computers so thought i would ask.
