BN-WD54G connection trouble

I have been using a BN-WD54G usb wireless adapter for a few months with no problems, but now suddenly it says there is a strong signal from the router and when I click connect it connects for a second then fails, and keeps doing this on and off, on and off, all the time. I know the router works as I am using the same system on my other computer. But this one won't stay connected at all suddenly, but has been fine for months and nothing has changed in my computer. Can anyone help please?!!! Any answers in simple terms, thanks.
