Can anyone recommend a good DVD recorder for under 100? I'm not worried about it having a digital receiver or anything just the ability to record and be played back on other dvd players and PCs

Here's one:

Philips 3480 DVD Recorder:

Personally, I would recommend buying a DVD recorder that is capable of recording in both formats (DVD+ & DVD-) otherwise you'll be limited in the discs you can buy.
Most DVD players/recorders can playback both DVD+ and DVD- discs but only certain models can record in both formats.

To be honest, my DVD Recorder is a Lite-On LVW-5005 and the only reason I haven't recommended it here is because I bought mine five years ago and I'm not sure if they're still available. Most companies seem to have moved on to producing HDD recorders now. That said, you can still get Lite-On DVD recorders (albeit a different model to the one I have) but they exceed your price limit.

Here's some specs on the Philips 3480 DVD Recorder:-

Do you have that one? Can you recommend it?

I'm reluctant to go and spend the money on one in case it's rubbish!
Well if you'd read my post properly you'd see I have a Lite-On LVW-5005 which, as I clearly stated, I bought five years ago and I doubt very much you'd be able to get one now (short of buying a secondhand one on eBay but I presumed you were looking for a brand new machine). Latest model Lite-On DVD recorders are available but you definitely won't find one for under 100.

I recommended the Philips model because Philips is a famous brand and also this particular DVD recorder has everything you need and has received good reviews:-

At the end of the day it's your choice but you won't find many DVD recorders like the one above going for less than a ton.
