I have a battery operated Bush TR82CL radio. The serial number is 653/14719. Any ideas on how I might find out what age it is?

Thanks, ChuckFickens. No luck with dating it yet but very interesting to note from the website you suggested that the TR82 cost the equivalent of 17.45 in 1959. I started teaching in 1966 and my first takehome salary was the equivalent of 13.98 per week.
Definitely a radio for the wellheeled, then!
Hi derrynoose, thanks gor asking that Q as I am an old git who used to have one of those that you have (a blue one) in 1958, and last year I purchased a wood grain model TR 82 from Tesco`s for notalgia sake, and I now wish I hadn`t bothered becuase the volume control makes a noise when I try to set it to the volume I want. With the original model a squirt of oil would solve it but with these new types it doesn`t work.
