copy and paste

have got to click on something in an email to activate my account on a site but when i do its not recognizing it so another option is to copy and paste ? it into my browser but being a do do i dont know how to do that ha so could someone explain it to me please .

Put the mouse at the beginning of what you want to copy and click the left mouse button, holding it down while you drag over the section.

Drag across or down. At the end of what you want copied, let go of the mouse button.
What you want to copy should be highlighted!

(If you make a mistake, click the mouse button once to unhighlight, then start over.)

While it's highlighted, hold down the Ctrl key and hit the letter "c". This copies the highlighted part to an invisible clipboard.

Now go to where you want to paste it. Put the cursor on that spot by clicking the left mouse button once. Now hold down the Ctrl key and hit the letter "v" to paste what you copied.

If you're using Outlook Express and Internet Explorer, do this:

Right-click on the link in the email. Select 'Copy shortcut'. Open Internet Explorer. Click to place your cursor in the address bar. Right-click, select 'Paste'. Click 'Go'.

If you're reading your mail using an email client other than Outlook Express, or via a web browser, those instructions will probably still work but you might find that 'Copy shortcut' is replaced by something like 'Copy link' or 'Copy mail address'.

wow that was quick thanks both of you, i did as you said and it did it but the site is still saying my username and password dont match which they do , or i havent activated my membership which is what i was doing so no joy there but at least ive learnt something !.

Or, once you`ve highlighted what it is you want to copy, right click, select copy, then right click again and select paste.

sometimes they give you a really long url where the first part is in blue and underlined, but then it carries on to the next line. When you right click on it to copy or highlight it sometimes you leave the next part out. try and see if this is the case...
