Hi. My Pioneer Surround system has large speakers, especially the front ones, and I wish to know if it is possible to replace them with smaller ones without changing the bass speaker and the main unit? If so does it have to be Pioneer speakers? Any recommendations? The main unit is an XV-DV505 and the speakers system is the S-DV505. Thank you, and Happy St Georges Day!

those speakers are 6ohm 75 watt ones, so any speakers rated at 6ohms would be fine.

You would be best to get speakers rated at 75watts max power or more, but if you get speakers with a power rating of less then 75 watts they will work but you would run the risk of blowing them at high volumes
