Virgin Media phone line

They are coming to connect my phone line on saturday. At the mo I pay line rental with Toucan. Thing is, Virgin are going to change my phone number and I want to retain it. So they say that AFTER the installation I should ring them and then they will get my old number back after a week or two.
Is it not possible to retain my number on the day of installation???

Beware! Although I'm happy with my Virgin package of tv, broadband + phone, I do believe they misled me when they were selling it to me. They gave me the impression I would have a lot more TV channels that I actually got on the basic package. I was able to keep my BT phone number though.

I've had broadband with them since NTL days and Im so-so with their customer service, but they do offer broadband and phone for 15.50 a month, so its good value. I would switch to 02 broadband as they seem to have a good reputation, but it works out a bit more. Hmmmm... I still have time to cancel!

I pay �20 a month for broadband, phone (with free landline calls) + large TV package.

God knows! I've had my mobile with them for some years now, + they just phoned me out of the blue and offered it! Very unlike me to agree to buy over the phone, but am glad I did.
