I'm not sure where to post this one!
Has anybody got any recommendations for payg deals. Currently my daughter can quite easily go through 300 texts in one week (she is on the 10 top up for 300 free texts). I'm not very keen to pay more than 20 a month and don't want to be tied to a contract.

You might be cheaper going for a contract, now I'm not sure if I got this deal because I've been with Vodafone for 12 years, but my contract is unlimited texts and 300 minutes talk time, which is under the 'stop the clock' deal, which means I can talk for up to 60 minutes and only use 3 of my 300 minutes.

I pay 25 per month for that 18 month contract.

Maybe go on to the provider sites and see what deals there are?
Virgin mobile do a liberty bundle for 15 a month. You get 300 minutes and 300 texts. You can cancel whenever you like, it's not a contract as such.

Contracts always seem to have hidden costs - for example voicemail is an extra on the contract I have at the moment. I shall definately look into the Vodafone one you mentioned though. Thanks
But if Budlet's daughter is going through 300 texts per week, then it's going to be a mighty expensive from the 2nd week until the last if Virgin have their bundle at 300 per month?
I don't think I get charged for picking up my voicemail.

You can make the contact so that she cannot access the net or send video messages etc.

I just had a look at my last bill, and I definately don't get charged for picking up my voicemail.
There's a different Virgin liberty bundle also for 15 a month, that is 150 minutes and 1,000 texts.

check out the O2 deals. you can get free sims that have plenty of different offers to suit all kinds of phone users.

Here's the VF plan I was talking about. Third one down - 500 minutes and unlimited texts for 25.
Same deal.... 300 minutes and 2,000 texts per month for 20.
I'm on pay-as-you-go with 02 and I get 600 free texts a month with a 10 top-up .:-) x
Yeah, we posted about the same time, notafish, yours is better because there's no contract as such to tie her. Being a teenager (I assume), no doubt she'll want a new model of phone or something 6 months down the line - you can't do that locked in a contract (unless you buy it yourself)
As Dak says, sounds like a contract would be better and cheaper. Plus if you join Quidco and then go through the O2 link they are offering 100 cashback on a contract!!
